The paintings made by
“dripping on acrylic”, have their background with North American Jackson
Pollock, contrary to him, Roque takes his work to figurative art with uncommon
skill and mastery. Where the control of gravitation over his paintings
turns complicated, such as the “Revolucionario”, with presence almost cinematography
represents Emiliano Zapata. In this painting the dripping technique is
fundamental and obvious. There is no previous drawing, over a thick paste
of color the artist starts dropping over the painting surface, structuring
mentally what is going to be captured at the end.
